What The Mac?
Throughout our journey at Mirandaland, we’ve put a lot of care into perfecting every batch of macarons (or as we like to call them, macs). But there was something unexpected that we kept running into: people calling our delicate, crispy-yet-chewy creations by the wrong name! We were shocked to find out how often taste testers referred to our macarons as macaroons, which—let's be honest—is a completely different cookie.
What’s the Difference?
While both sweets share a similar name, that’s where the similarities end. A macaroon is typically made with shredded coconut, and while it has its own fanbase, it’s simply not on the same level as a macaron. There’s no delicate crisp crack when you bite into it, no creamy chew that makes you close your eyes and savor the moment. We would never want to insult a macaroon, but let’s just say it’s not for us (or for you, if you're craving something truly special).
So, what did we do when caterers, CEOs, or showrunners made the mix-up? Well, we certainly didn’t correct them before they took that first bite of our macaron! We let our macs do the talking—and they always do.
Why We Call Them "macs"
To take any confusion out of the equation and add some of our signature mirandaland boldness, we gave our macarons a nickname: macs. Short, sweet, and to the point—just like the cookies themselves. In a way, it fits with the playful, vibrant attitude of Mirandaland. We’re all about having fun with food while delivering something extraordinary. Plus, let’s face it: the quicker we can get a Mirandaland mac into your hands (and your mouth), the better! It’s part of mirandaland - serious desserts while never taking ourselves too seriously.
So, next time someone offers you a macaroon, we hope you’ll say, “No, thanks. I’ll take a mac instead!”
